We are looking for an experienced applicant for this permanent role with a salary of £32,000 to £37,000 depending upon experience. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the ideal candidate will have experience of Systems Administration on Windows server platforms along with some Linux in an always on, multi-site environment. You will be expected to contribute your technical knowledge in projects and participate actively with your peers in the design of appropriate, compatible solutions. Being self-motivated, disciplined, committed to continual personal development and a strong desire to excel, your key responsibilities will include;

  • Installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, associated software and related infrastructure.
  • Investigate, isolate and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain system efficiency, evaluate and modify system performance.
  • Monitor all systems to ensure security, integrity and system uptime.
  • Preserve network and system security.
  • Provide help to IT staff.
  • Recommend and deploy appropriate software upgrades and patches.
  • Software installation and maintenance.
  • Support LAN, WAN, network segments, Internet and Intranet systems.
  • Systems documentation.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas;

  • Active Directory/DNS/DHCP.
  • Anti-virus and threat control.
  • Firewall administration.
  • Health and performance monitoring.
  • HP Backup/Veeam Backup.
  • SAN - Fibre channel networks & iSCSI (HP EVA/Dell Compellent)
  • HP & Cisco networking.
  • Microsoft Hyper-V & Cluster Services.
  • MS Exchange.
  • MS IIS.
  • MS SQL.
  • Software deployment.
  • Windows Servers (2008, 2012) & desktops (Windows 7, 8 &10).

The work is varied, challenging and interesting and as such an IT Degree is essential and relevant Microsoft and vendor qualifications are advantageous. Training will be provided to the right candidate along with support for career progression.
