Role purpose:

To manage and supervise a team of mortgage advisers ensuring they provide appropriate quality of advice and guidance that meets the mortgage needs of our customers.

This role is subject to the FCA’s Certification Regime and Conduct Rules.



Accountabilities:

  • Coach and support team members to ensure they're generating a consistently high level of activity from L&C leads that achieve good customer outcomes.
  • Coach and encourage team members to realise their potential through continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team and individual advisers achieve performance standards of Quality, Production, Activity and Product Mix within an ethos of compliance and customer care, measured through Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ensure that all first line managerial duties are completed in respect of the company’s Training and Competence Scheme for each individual team member.
  • Undertake the compliant ‘sign off’ of business proposed by advisers.
  • Maintain personal Competent Adviser and first line Supervisor status to effectively support the advice team.
  • Ensure that all members of the team adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure that customers are treated fairly and receive good customer outcomes.
  • Understand and ensure personal and team members’ adherence to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulatory requirements including the FCA’s Code of Conduct.
  • Adhere to all aspects of the FCA’s Certification Regime which includes carrying out an annual Fitness & Propriety (F&P) assessment for all team members.
  • To achieve personal KPIs in accordance with the company’s requirements.
  • To effectively carry out all tasks delegated by the Advice Director and Heads of Advice.
  • To undertake any other tasks as required from time to time including administrative or sales related duties.



Key skills and experience:

Commercial experience

  • Previous experience in Financial Services is preferred.
  • CeMap 1,2,3 required.

Communication skills

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing with customers, colleagues, and business contacts.

Technical skills

  • Good working knowledge of IT systems relevant to job role.
  • Excellent product/industry knowledge.
  • Adheres to company standards and procedures at all times.

Personal responsibility and drive

  • Prioritises effectively.

L&C is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the FCA Certification Regime as well as the 5 FCA Conduct rules. You will therefore be expected to adhere to the requirements of this regulatory regime if successful in your application. This will include the need for some role specific personal details to be entered into the official FCA Directory in due course in 2021. The FCA Directory will be accessible by the public.
