Purpose of the role:

At L&C we care about our customers and understand that buying a home is likely to be the biggest financial commitment they make.

As a Mortgage Adviser you’ll be responsible for helping our customers buy or remortgage their home or investment property. The work you do can do can help realise a customer’s property dream - so it’s hard work but can be very rewarding.



About you

  • You’ll be a motivated, enthusiastic adviser who demonstrates our core values at all times.
  • You’re able to establish good relationships with customers quickly. You’ll be a great verbal communicator, able to explain sometimes complex products and scenarios in a way that is easy to understand. Your written communication will be equally strong as you’ll be in touch with customers and colleagues using email regularly.
  • You’ll enjoy participating and co-operating with others in the team and will actively seek opportunities for self-development.
  • Ideally you’ll have some mortgage or finance based experience, but energy, attitude and enthusiasm are all equally important.
  • You’ll enjoy working at a fast pace and won’t shy away from activity, quality and advice standards.


  • A bit about the role

  • L&C operates in a highly regulated environment (Financial Services) and has been designated enhanced status under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role will be subject to the certification regime.
  • As a mortgage adviser you’ll generate a consistently high level of quality mortgage advice.
  • You’ll know your customer – so that the most suitable advice can be provided.
  • At L&C we care what our customers think about us - because we know if they’re not happy, they can go elsewhere. Your role is all about the customer so expect some quality measures including customer satisfaction.
  • As part of a professional financial services firm, you’ll be expected to evidence your advice and keep up with all relevant regulatory, financial and product changes.
  • We want you to build lasting customer relationships - follow up existing customers so you’re able to help them every time they or their friends and family need mortgage advice.
  • If you’re not already qualified when you join us, we’ll support you with obtaining the CeMAP (CeMAP 1,2 & 3) qualification.
