The role

The Cyber Security Analyst is a vital position, and you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of information security controls used within L&C. You’ll evaluate security products and providers and manage implementation, working with relevant colleagues and departments to investigate and follow up infosec events and incidents where appropriate.

You will also be required to identify and monitor organisation-wide security risks and maintain the Information Security Risk Register on an ongoing basis; with this conducting audits for vulnerabilities and weaknesses, working to recommend appropriate mitigating measures and remediation.

This role is subject to the 6 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C may be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.

  1. You must act with integrity

  3. You must be open and cooperative with the FCA, the PRA and other regulators

About you

With a strong background in information security, you’ll have practical experience working within a large-scale organisation to implement best practice with security tasks and concepts as a whole. As a cyber security expert, you’ll hold demonstratable experience of monitoring and responding efficiently to Cyber security threats, able to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high level of information security within L&C.

You’re an adept problem solver, thorough and accurate in your work and able organize the load efficiently. You’ll also need to be an excellent communicator, able to explain technical concepts and terminology to non-technical audiences, through the development and delivery of training modules where required.

Ultimately, we require working knowledge of the concepts of security compliance, risk, assurance, business continuity and disaster recovery as well as industry standards such as the ISO270x series, NIST, Cyber Essentials, and NCSC guidance.

An information security/cyber security qualification will also be desirable; however we have a strong focus on self-development and opportunities to learn additional skills and qualifications will be provided.
