Right now, we’re looking to recruit a Junior Applications Developer.

The role

This is a great opportunity to jump start a career within application development. With a good working knowledge within IT and application development and coding, working under the Senior Developer/s you will help with the development and implementation of new software applications and services, as well as supporting maintenance of existing and legacy applications where asked.

Where appropriate, specific members of staff may be asked to specialise in one or more of the following software development technologies::·

  • Front-end technologies (Vue, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, SASS)·
  • Back-end technologies (.NET Core, C#, Web Services, Function Apps, .NET Framework)·
  • Data (SQL Server, Azure Storage, Message Queues)

To meet changing business needs, Application Developers may need to learn new skills subject to receiving the appropriate technical training.

FCA Certification Regime & Conduct Rules

L&C is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 5 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C may be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.

About you

Your experience and technical knowledge has given you a solid understanding of web design and development principles. You’ll have a good base knowledge and understanding of certain coding languages but are eager to increase that knowledge, improving upon your skills and learning directly from the Senior Developers.

You’ll be proficient and able to assist with all aspects of web design, from development of new applications to both back and front end testing. With strong attention to detail and analytical skills, you’ll be able to review code for errors and ensure work is of the highest quality.

There will also be a focus on your own personal development, with this the requirement to undertake additional training and qualifications will be provided.
