Right now, we’re looking to recruit a Senior Applications Developer.

The role

We are looking for a seasoned Developer to join our team of Application Developers, who provide internal software development resources to L&C to ensure we meet agreed business needs.

You will help with the development of new software applications and services, as well as maintenance of existing and legacy applications where necessary.

You will help with providing internal ongoing support to all users by responding in a timely manner to relevant queries submitted to the IT department, or as directed by the person responsible for managing the help desk function.

Where appropriate, specific members of staff may be asked to specialise in one or more of the following software development technologies:·

Front-end technologies (Vue, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, SASS)·

Back-end technologies (.NET Core, C#, Web Services, Function Apps, .NET Framework)·

Data (SQL Server, Azure Storage, Message Queues)

In a Senior capacity as well as deputising for the Team Manager in their absence, you will be a key figure in the coaching and mentoring of less experienced employees. Able to make pragmatic decisions when needed, you don’t require constant supervision and are able to work to deadlines and ensuring written codes and applications are of a consistently high quality.

FCA Certification Regime & Conduct Rules

L&C is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 6 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C may be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.

About you

An individual with a strong background in application development, looking to take the next step branch into management and heighten your skills in the process, you’ll be able to demonstrate strong knowledge and relevant experience with development languages, methodologies and tools, front-end and back-end, most notably being as follows:

· JavaScript/TypeScript

· Vue (or other modern JavaScript framework)

· HTML and CSS/SASS

· C#

· Visual Studio

· SQL Server

· GIT

· Microsoft Azure DevOps

· Unit Testing and Mocking
