Right now, we’re looking to recruit a Senior IT Systems Administrator.

The Role

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned Systems Administrator to join our IT Operations Team. You’ll be a vital member of the team, reporting to the IT Operations Manager you will be an escalation point for complex technical incidents from the 1st and 2nd line support teams, as well as 3rd line colleagues. You will be expected to take ownership and ensure incidents are resolved in a timely manner, providing feedback to further develop IT colleagues as required. 

You will act as a main point of contact when dealing with third-party suppliers and will be expected to log tickets and follow up through to resolution in a timely manner.

The Senior IT Systems Administrator will take an active lead in complex IT projects providing input in to the planning as well as the delivery and documentation of new systems. Working alongside colleagues from within the team and the wider IT department such as Solution Architects.

FCA Certification Regime and Conduct Rules

L&C is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 5 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C may be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.

About You

You’ll have ample proven experience (at least 3 years) as a System Administrator, Cloud Administrator, or plenty of equivalent 3rd line experience in a different role. Your technical skills and analytical ability allow you to provide high level support across multiple systems and ensure these systems are fit for purpose and operational.

You’ll have experience and/or certification in a selection of the following technologies:  

  • Sharepoint and OneDrive
  • Intune (MDM and MAM)
  • Windows Server
  • Backup Technologies (Veeam)
  • Automation (e.g. Powershell, Infrastructure as Code)
  • Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix)
  • VMWare
  • SQL
  • SNetworking (Cisco)

Aside from this you’ll be equipped with excellent technical knowledge, able to provide valuable support to colleagues within your team, the wider IT department and beyond. However you’re always eager to learn, with apt knowledge of both current and emerging technologies, and you’ll be happy to adapt your skills and learn more as the business needs change.
