Location: Bath

Fun, rewarding and with the opportunity to develop and grow your career. That’s life with L&C Mortgages, the UK’s leading fee free mortgage and protection broker with over 160 awards to its name.

Join us and you’ll be part of a business that takes your progress seriously and wants you to enjoy being part of the L&C family. From ‘High Five’ colleague nominations – recognising those who go the extra mile, to our cycle-to-work scheme and stakeholder matched pension contributions, this is a place that really gives back on the effort you put in.

Right now, we’re expanding our Bath office and taking on a new Senior Business Analyst.

The role

In business, growth and change go hand in hand. As Senior Business Analyst at L&C, you’ll look at the whole journey of business change and how it will better serve the needs of our customers. L&C is a regulated Financial Services company (regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority – FCA) so maintaining customer outcomes and adhering to our regulatory requirements whilst implementing any change is paramount. Working with key stakeholders using an Agile approach, you’ll collate user stories that will help establish why changes need to happen, how they’ll happen, and what they’ve achieved as part of the ongoing improvement to our services and systems.

You’ll scope out the best mortgage options through listening to customers’ stories and circumstances, fully documenting these with the help of L&C’s technology and coming up with a solution that meets their needs and satisfies regulatory rules and standards as you go. We expect a quality and compliant service for our customers and this performance will be monitored.

This is an opportunity to bring your project management and software development skills to a business that puts collaboration at the heart of business change – so you’ll really be able to see the difference you’re making:

  • Supporting customers with existing products.
  • Reviewing customer experiences and producing reports rich in analysis.
  • Planning projects that will improve those experiences in line with budget and time constraints and liaising with stakeholders.

By doing all that, you’ll help our business maintain the requisite compliance and customer focus that will take us – and your career – to new heights.

FCA Certification Regime & Conduct Rules

L&C is classified as an “Enhanced Firm” under the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role will fall into the “Conduct” element of the regime, meaning you will be personally subject to the 5 FCA Conduct Rules if successful in your application. You may already be aware of these but don’t worry if not. If successful in securing an interview and role a detailed explanation and training will be provided.

About you

To hit the ground running as a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll need plenty of experience of project management within a similar role where SDLC was your focus. Even better if that role was web-based and focused on user experience and visual design optimisation. You’ll also be seasoned in the Agile methodology that forms the basis of our collaborative approach to implementing business change at L&C Mortgages. That means having the kind of expert project management skills that allow you to deliver the requirements of key stakeholders in a strategic, measurable way that prioritises accuracy, regulatory compliance and clarity of reporting.

In a competitive market, the ability to respond to change quickly and efficiently is essential. You’ll be setting the pace with the work you do and taking the initiative on projects that will keep us ahead of our competitors. You’ll always remember to stay connected with your colleagues and stakeholders throughout your work. That means communicating well at all levels – both verbally and in writing – and being able to develop constructive relationships with developers, testers (internal and external) so we can get the most out of UAT activities. If you’ve spent your career taking a team approach to project management and business change, joining L&C Mortgages is your chance to see some real rewards.

Why join L&C?

Working at L&C means being part of a respectful and collaborative team – everyone has a valuable contribution to make through their unique set of skills and experiences. You’ll surprise yourself with the things you’ll accomplish here, and you’ll always take home the feeling that the work you do makes a real difference to all our customers.
