The Bank of England base rate has risen from a record low of 0.25% to 0.50%. Here’s our rundown of how lenders are reacting to the rise, so you can see whether yours has increased its Standard Variable Rate. We’re keeping a close eye on developments and will update this page as we hear of any changes. Remember that if you are currently paying your lender’s SVR, the chances are you could substantially reduce your monthly mortgage costs by switching to a cheaper deal.
