Application Developers

This is an opportunity for two full-time application developers to join a growing development team at London & Country Mortgages, an award-winning mortgage broker in the centre of Bath, serving over 500 users across three sites nationwide.

We are seeking experienced developers with strong Microsoft skills, covering a range of products, to assist in the redevelopment and maintenance of existing internal systems together with design and development of new solutions.

Candidates should be able to work following AGILE development principles within a small SCRUM team over a range of varied projects and technologies. Good knowledge of application design and relational databases is essential together with an aptitude to learn new skills.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• A minimum of four years commercial experience using Microsoft technologies.
• Essential skills include:
  • C#
  • Visual Basic (.Net/VB6)
  • SQL Server
  • ASP.NET
  • Service Orientated Architecture
• Additional desirable skills should include:
  • MVC/MVP
  • Current web development skills
  • Windows Communication Foundation
  • Entity Framework
  • Unit Testing

The role will require candidates to learn quickly from the outset in a busy development environment. They will be able to develop not only their technical skills, but also their career in an exciting and often challenging environment. Knowledge and experience of financial services, in particular mortgages, would be useful but not essential. Furthermore, whilst we recognize and value academic and technical qualifications, we are more interested in your relevant technical expertise in the above areas.

The role also offers 25 days annual leave.
